In this commission, special cases of infertility treatment are analyzed by a team of gynecologists, andrologists, embryologists and geneticists.  In some cases, no therapeutic option has been defined within the framework of the center owing to the complexity of the treatment or diagnostic process. Therefore, this situation calls for establishing the joint meetings between specialists and consultants to decide for an appropriate treatment procedure. The commission meetings are held semimonthly.

The cutting-edge findings in the area of infertility are discussed in the commission to update the specialists’ scientific knowledge. Moreover, the members evaluate the proposed research projects in order to approve the possibility of their conducting at Infertility Treatment Clinic. If a project does not get the approval, the researcher should make the requested revisions. In addition, therapeutic protocols used in the center are constantly reviewed and updated in this commission.

A group of experts on immunology, genetics, gynecology, infections disease and endocrinology determine the various therapeutic procedures for the situation of recurrent abortion and failure in treatments of infertility. They specify the diagnostic methods and the required measures for the patients through analysis of the latest conducted papers and researches. It is apparent that all the patients underwent treatment in Recurrent Abortion Clinic based on the determined guidelines. If unusual complexity or problem occurs during the process of treatment or in a case that the existent protocol does not offer  a suitable remedy, the issue should be evaluated in counseling sessions in order to make a proper decision for the patient. 

Morbidity Commission (Commission on the Potential Side Effects of the Treatments) acts to evaluate possible side effects of the treatments, take appropriate policies for preventing adverse and evitable treatment effects and investigate probable medical malpractice during the treatment procedure. The commission comprising the chairman, manager and legal medicine consultants is held monthly to investigate rising cases and express the issued opinion to related colleagues and applicants

Donation Commission is the most important and critical one in the center. Weekly, a group of different specialists in the areas of social medicine, psychology, embryology, law, ethics, and medical sociology gather in a meeting to discuss about the related issues. This commission as the oldest established one in Avicenna Fertility Center enjoys the utmost collaboration of experts in interdisciplinary fields. For a considerable number of couples, the only therapeutic option is the third-party intervention including gamete and embryo donation and surrogacy. This type of treatment requires more accurate and advanced specialized analysis due to its impact on the biological connection of family members. So, in various sessions the most proper treatment protocol for the couple is selected.

The commission members are perinatologists, gynecologists and geneticists.  Prenatal care plays a pivotal role in the birth of a healthy baby and as a basic solution alleviates the psychological concerns of families prior to childbirth. Therefore, special controls in this period have a significant value. When a child is born through ARTs, the importance of these controls will be doubled. For that reason, the relevant experts clarify the guidelines and procedures on prenatal controls and plan for the development of the related researches.  They also monitor the special cases and reach a consensus regarding the issue. Furthermore, the latest methods of prenatal screening in terms of fetal imaging, biochemistry and genetic tests are discussed in the commission.

This commission as a part of Breast Cancer Clinic investigates genetic topics related to HER2 gene (breast cancer susceptibility gene) and laboratory issues regards to breast cancer antibodies (AnTi-Her2).

Considering the fact that localizing and tailoring the treatments for patients of Avicenna Fertility Center for maximizing the results of treatment is one of the main obsessions of the policy makers in the center, the formation of the Research Commission is one of the items in the agenda. The members of the commission who are the senior policy makers and managers of the center, evaluate the views and suggestions of research experts in order to uplift the efficacy of infertility therapies, update the medical procedures and discuss on other relevant issues. The meetings are held monthly on a regular basis. 

In order to have a plan to achieve educational goals of the center and provide better education services beside the attempt in improving the quality and quantity of the content of these programs, the Commission has been established at the center. In the commission, a group of specialists in the field of medical education and the officials of the field develop and explain the policies and areas of best practice. Next, they plan and design the administrative procedures   to put the theories in to practice and thereby fulfilling the goals.

 The Commission meetings are held at least once a month on a regular basis and the tentative training programs proposed for implementation in the center are assessed by the board members, education deputy, and manager of education. In case, they are ratified, the plans can be run. In the commission, all educational issues based on the activities of the center including the educational programs, continuous medical education, clinical, specialized, supplementary training courses, etc. are all investigated and approved.  Training educational curriculum and the administrative ways for implementing training courses are closely scrutinized and updated in the center according to latest national and international standards.
